Booking/eLearning enrolment and any further subsequent PGD’s are processed Monday to Friday, 09:00am to 5pm, with 24/48 process time required.
Course outline
This course is open to all Pharmacists including both those new to vaccinations as well as those requiring a refresher.
This 3.5-hour face to face training course covers all practical skills required to vaccinate adults and children over the age of 2.
You will also have access to an online course which provides all the theory content required.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Deliver Intramuscular and Subcutaneous injections into the deltoid and thigh.
- Reconstitute vaccines.
- Draw up multi dose vial injections.
- Deliver intranasal vaccination.
- Provide CPR.
- Recognise and treat anaphylaxis with the use of adrenaline for children and adults.
Patient Group Direction (PGD)
Our private PGD’s are authorised per pharmacist, for use within one company under the direction of the superintendent. You will not be able to transfer a PGD to another company.
ECG supply PGDs for privately managed services only. For NHS funded vaccination services, national PGDs and Protocols are available from PSNC and other NHS organisations. NHS PGDs/Protocols will specify additional training and governance required to use these PGDs.

Online element
All online courses are completed on an approved platform and your registration and training details are held on this platform. Your purchase entitles you to 3 attempts at the post course test and access to the course materials for one year from the date of purchase.
Note: There is no PGD included in this package. Currently pharmacy technicians and trainee pharmacists cannot issue medicines under a PGD.
